Crazy 8 brainstorming is a fast and fun way to get ideas out and on to the page. Even though all ideas are not top notch it is goo to get them down and after students ares able to build on them to find the perfect idea to prototype.

Mind mapping is a great strategy for students to use as they are researching a topic. They can start off with their prior knowledge and then add to their map as they learn. Popplet is a great online resource that students can try or a blank paper.
